Audi Snowmass 50 (formerly Power of Four MTB)
July 23, 2022
The Audi Snowmass 50 replaces the event previously knows as the Power of Four MTB. The ride/race showcases the best singletrack in the Aspen/Snowmass region with a 25 mile loop ascending 5000’ feet. Solo competitors have the option of 1 or 2 laps or you can split duties with a partner in the 50 Team event. The Power of Four started as a race going up and down the four local ski mountains Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, and Snowmass which represented an extremely difficult challenge to say the least. Organizers came up with the new route to provide an event more accessible to riders with a broader range of skill and fitness levels. Don’t be fooled though, this is still a challenging and difficult event that attracts many of the best athletes in the Roaring Fork Valley. The route starts on Fanny Hill, just above Snowmass Village and basically circumnavigates the Snowmass Valley. The route is almost entirely single-track and hits some of the famous trails of the region including Rim, Tom Blake, Government and more. If you aren’t within easy reach of Aspen/Snowmass or familiar with the area this is an ideal event to plan a longer stay or vacation around. Although the Mountain Biking is world class, the road and gravel riding is just as good, not to mention every other mountain sport you can imagine.
