Gold Rush Gravel Grinder
September 8, 2019 - June 13, 2021
South Dakota’s premiere gravel ride is the infamous Gold Rush Gravel Grinder. There are three routes for the event. The shortest but certainly not a cake walk is called the Gold Dust at 70 miles in length with about 4,500 feet of climbing. The middle distance is called the gold rush and is 110 miles with a mega 7,000 feet of climbing. And finally, the beast of the beast; The Motherlode. At an astonishing 210 miles with 13,000 feet of climbing and over 185 miles of strictly gravel terrain, the MOtherlode course at the Gold Rush Gravel Grinder can be called one of the hardest gravel races in North America if not the world. It’s statistically so long, hilly, and gravel filled that it gives the king of gravel events, the Dirty Kanza, a run for its money. The big sufferers out there, the Gold Rush Gravel Grinder is an event worth travelling to.
