Hopper Adventures presents Humboldt Hopper, the series finale of the six-leg Grasshopper Adventure Series, a 99-mile course with mixed pavement and gravel with two timed segments and 11,600 feet of elevation gain. Picked as one of our best gravel cycling events in California, the course is among the Old Growth redwoods, rolling ridges, remote coastline, two sections of dirt, and a little-known seasonal crossing of the Eel River. Atop Bear Ridge/Monument Road, you will be treated to epic views of the mouth of the Eel River and the Pacific Ocean. You are in for a treat if the Unknown Coast is still unknown to you. This is the perfect finale for the Hopper Series with two timed sections. It will be hard enough to be dubbed a “ProperHopper,” but includes great feed zones, and riders will have a chance to regroup, enjoy the beautiful scenery, and cruise with their friends. To top it all off, the staging and after party/podium will be next to the Eel River on Dyerville Bar, where you can swim, enjoy lunch and a cold beverage, and swap stories from the day’s adventure.
There will be emergency medical support and Rest Stops for food and hydration along the way. Registration is limited to 350 participants, and all registrants receive sponsor giveaways, the opportunity to win prizes from multiple sponsors, and hydration from Guayaki Organic Energy. The post-course party will be hosted in Dyerville Bar, where all participants and supporters will be invited to enjoy a cold beverage, eat lunch, and even swim.

The 26th annual Grasshopper Adventure Series is the US’s longest-running gravel/mixed-terrain adventure series. The series comprises six unique rides, routes, and races in Northern California. Whether looking for races or adventures, each event allows you to explore little-known paved, dirt, and single-track in Sonoma, Mendocino, and Humbolt County. These are eclectic races designed to push riders to the limit without pushing them over. The six series events run annually from January to June, including Low Gap; Huffmaster Hopper; King Ridge; Lake Sonoma MTB, Sherwood Adventure; and Humbolt Hopper. There is a competition for the Hopper Super King of the Universe title based on overall points leaders for riders who complete five Hoppers.
Grasshopper also produces the highly acclaimed Mendo Hopper and the USAL Lost Coast Hopper.
