Hopper Adventures presents King Ridge Dirt Supreme, offering two stunning California coastal route options. Picked as one of our best gravel cycling events in California, option #1 is an 80-mile course with 8,176 feet of elevation gain, three timed segments, and a significant climb up Occidental Peak (Occi) and a descent down Willow Creek. There are winners in each category based on the best combined time. Option #2 is a 62-mile course with 6,753 feet of elevation that is the same as the first option but does not include the Occi or Willow Creek parts of the ride. There is an emergency medical support and two Osmo hydration and feed zones along the routes. Registration is limited to 300 riders and includes event timing, local sponsors’ prizes, lunch, Cold Guayaki, and Sierra Nevada beer.
Willow Creek is a small, rugged mountain town with several restaurants along Trinity Highway, including Gonzalez Mexican Restaurant. Lodging within Willow Creek is unique; participants can stay close to the cozy downtown area at Coho Cottages or Bigfoot Motel Lodging. Or the further way in China Creek Cottages.
The 26th annual Grasshopper Adventure Series is the US’s longest-running gravel/mixed-terrain adventure series. The series comprises six unique rides, routes, and races in Northern California. Whether looking for races or adventures, each event allows you to explore little-known paved, dirt, and single-track in Sonoma, Mendocino, and Humbolt County. These are eclectic races designed to push riders to the limit without pushing them over. The six series events run annually from January to June, including Low Gap; Huffmaster Hopper; King Ridge; Lake Sonoma MTB, Sherwood Adventure; and Humbolt Hopper. There is a competition for the Hopper Super King of the Universe title based on overall points leaders for riders who complete five Hoppers.
Grasshopper also produces the highly acclaimed Mendo Hopper and the USAL Lost Coast Hopper.
