Seattle to Portland (STP) Bike Ride
July 16 - July 17
The Seattle to Portland (STP) organized by Cascade Bicycle Club is the largest bicycle event in the Northwest, covering 200+ mile ride through western Washington, south of Seattle, and ending in Portland, Oregon. The STP is a thrilling back-to-back double century ride through urban and rural settings with 8,000 participants. Riders choose between one and two day options. After cancelling the in person ride for the last two years, with the help of Alaska Airlines and Kaiser Permanente Seattle to Portland, Cascade Bicycle Club hopes to hold the event 2022 summer on July 16 and 17.
STP starts from University of Washington E-1 parking lot and the first fifty miles includes 3 mini-stops and the first major food stop in Spanaway at Spanaway Middle School. The second fifty miles has 4 mini-stops before the mid-point in Centralia at Centralia College. Each stop has mechanical support and provisions to keep riders going. For those participating in two-day option stay in Centralia area before second day of event at Snohomish County Hotels. Many places have discount for event, mention Seattle to Portland when you make your reservation.
The third fifty miles from Centralia has 5 mini-stops and another major food stop in Lexington. The final fifty miles is the least technical part of the ride so only has two mini-stops and a major food stop before the last climb to the finish line. This portion of the race crosses St. John’s Bridge and ends with a finish line festival at Holladay Park. There are diverse restaurants near the park to celebrate your successful ride as well.
- Noble Rot – American restaurant knowns for their wine. Open seven days a week.
- Nostrana – Italian restaurant with fresh ingredients. Reservations required.
- Olympia Provisions – Southeast restaurant with high praise for their charcuterie.
Your STP registration makes Washington a better place for people riding bikes. The STP is a major economic boost to the areas we ride through. Your registration fee not only supports Cascade Bicycle Club in its mission to improve lives through bicycling, but also contributes tens of thousands every year to schools, non-profits, and other community groups who provide services for our food stops and our finish line.
