Definitely falling into our “bucket list” trail running events, the Catalina Island Marathon is one to check off your list. California’s oldest trail marathon in one of the most beautiful locations in the world is an event that checks off boxes you wouldn’t expect to exist all in one race. On top of its famous “wine mixer,” Catalina, an island located 26 miles off of the California Coast is known for its epic views, unique terrain, and wildlife. The course starting in Two Harbors, cuts through the middle of the island and ends in Avalon including wide roads, challenging climbs and only three miles of pavement. The event also offers a 10k and 5k providing a super inclusive atmosphere and location that is unbeatable. Although the event historically takes place end of March — due to Covid-19 they have postponed the event to August 29th giving you plenty of time to register and train!
