For 21 years, the Hot Hundred has held its reputation as one of the best rides in the country, attracting road cycling enthusiasts from all corners. Established in 2003 and organized by Druid City Bicycle Club, this century ride has become a standout event in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and one that the team at Strambecco considers to be one of the Best Road Cycling Events in the Southeast. What sets it apart is the diverse range of routes it offers, catering to cyclists of all ability levels. The Brian Smith Memorial Ultra, covering 116 miles, stands as the ultimate challenge for seasoned riders seeking an extraordinary test of skill and determination. Meanwhile, the Hot Hundred, encompassing 99.9 miles, presents an equally thrilling journey for those aspiring to conquer a century ride. For riders looking for a slightly shorter distance, four other routes, ranging from 30 to 75 miles, offer equally picturesque scenery and ample support at well-organized rest stops along the way. As you pedal through Tuscaloosa’s charming landscapes, you’ll be captivated by the beauty of Alabama’s countryside and rewarded with a sense of accomplishment at each milestone. The event proudly partners with Hampton Inn Tuscaloosa University which is situated closest to the start/finish line, this hotel allows for a convenient and quick bike ride to the heart of the action. However, Tuscaloosa offers a range of accommodations to suit different preferences and budgets for those that are looking for something different.

After a day of cycling, exploring Tuscaloosa’s culinary scene is a must. From charming cafes to vibrant restaurants, the town boasts a diverse array of eateries serving up delicious Southern cuisine and international delights.
