DESCRIPTION:The Tushars Mountain Runs delivers exactly what it promises: one of the most technically demanding and visually spectacular mountain races in North America. Starting at over 10\,000 feet and reaching 12\,174 feet at Eagle Point Resort in Beaver\, Utah\, this race tests runners across four distances while showcasing the rugged beauty of the Tushar Mountains. \nThe 100K course is a masterclass in high-altitude suffering and reward. You’ll begin by ascending from the ski resort to pristine singletrack near Mt. Holly\, then wind along mountainsides offering commanding views into Mt. Delano’s backside. The route threads through mining history\, passing abandoned ruins and cabins in Bullion Canyon before tackling a brutal 2\,000-foot climb to summit Mt. Delano. From there\, the adventure continues through scenic sections including Mud Lake with its stunning views of Mt. Baldy and Mt. Belknap\, a descent to Blue Lake\, and the punishing ascent of Copper Belt Peak. The course saves some of its most spectacular moments for the final stretch\, including a passage by Bullion Falls before the grinding 4\,000-foot climb on the canyon’s south side to Edna Peak. \nThe 70K follows the same demanding opening but diverges after Mt. Delano’s summit\, creating its own loop of technical climbing and breathtaking descents over approximately seven hours of racing. \nAid stations appear every 3-8 miles\, though the high elevation demands mandatory gear including rain jacket\, emergency blanket\, whistle\, and reusable cup.
