Aspen Snowmass has a reputation as a glitzy ski resort frequented by celebrities and billionaires.  While there is some truth to this reputation, it can’t overshadow the fact the area is an outdoorsman and endurance athletes paradise.  Besides four world class ski mountains, you’ll find equally world class cycling (road, gravel, MTB) and trail running with a myriad options to satiate your outdoor passions across all seasons.  Strambecco’s list of recommended events aren’t simply casual one day events or races.  Each event represents an experience in and of itself and depending on your perspective, you might even call them bucket list events.  Each of these events brings a unique local feel, but don’t be fooled.  These aren’t “Turkey Trots.”  The region is chalk of full of very competitive athletes including pro’s, former pro’s, and world class amateurs.  If your skills are more modest, don’t fret however.  The events welcome all skill levels, although come well trained and prepared for altitude.  Albeit stunningly beautiful in every respect, each course route is challenging and all events take place above 8,000 feet of elevation.
