About This Event

The Cyclotour du Léman is a scenic road cycling event that celebrates the stunning landscapes surrounding Lake Léman (Lake Geneva), one of Europe’s most breathtaking yet surprisingly overlooked bodies of water. Straddling the border between Switzerland and France, Lake Léman is Western Europe’s largest freshwater lake, its vivid blue surface framed by the Jura mountains to the north and the Alps to the south, including clear views of Mont Blanc on a fine day. Despite its extraordinary beauty and the richness of the surrounding region, including the terraced UNESCO-listed Lavaux vineyards, the medieval Château de Chillon, and the elegant Belle Époque towns lining its shores, Lake Léman remains far less trafficked by cyclists than more celebrated European routes, making this event a genuine discovery for those who take part.

The event offers three distinct route options. The flagship 176 km route circumnavigates the entire lake from Lausanne, crossing through both Switzerland and France while traversing the Lavaux wine region, Alpine panoramas, and continuous lakeside vistas. This is presented as the iconic course in the “NO RACE. JUST PACE” philosophy, emphasizing enjoyment over competition. Riders seeking a more accessible challenge can choose the 112 km option from Evian to Lausanne, balancing difficulty with the pleasure of exploring the lake’s most scenic sections. The 64 km route from Lausanne to Evian serves as an ideal introduction, guiding cyclists through Lavaux’s magnificent vineyards with panoramic lake views and concluding with a scenic boat return to Lausanne. World Bicycle Relief serves as the official charity partner, supported by the Pictet Group.
