Event for 2027 has not been confirmed yet… Etape Caledonia 2027 is a popular annual cycling event in Scotland that takes place in the scenic region of Perthshire and is the UK’s original closed-road sportive. The event is known for its breathtaking landscapes, challenging routes, and friendly atmosphere that attracts riders from all over the world.

Etape Caledonia 2027 takes place annually in May, and participants can choose between three routes – an 85-mile, a 55-mile, or 40-mile route option. The route starts and finishes in the charming town of Pitlochry and takes riders through some of the most stunning countryside in Scotland, including forests, rolling hills, and lochs. Strambecco rates the event as one of the Best Cycling Race Events and Gran Fondos in the UK.

The event is open to cyclists of all abilities, making it a perfect way to push yourself and test your limits. There are a few steep climbs and descents along the way, but the overall terrain is manageable for most cyclists. Participants are encouraged to fundraise for charity, and there are rest stops and aid stations along the route where riders can refuel and get medical assistance if needed.

85-Mile Route: As the most extended option in the Etape Caledonia, this route navigates through the rolling hills and forest-bordered roads around Loch Rannoch and Loch Tummel. It includes the rigorous, winding ascent of Mt. Schiehallion, offering a demanding yet rewarding experience for participants.

55-Mile Route: Introduced in 2023, this new distance strikes a balance between challenge and attainability, suitable for both seasoned cyclists and those aiming to extend their capabilities.

40-Mile Route: This course offers a blend of challenges while eliminating the steep ascent of Schiehallion. It features an excellent closed-road path beginning in the scenic town of Pitlochry.
