Etape Caledonia is a popular annual cycling event in Scotland that takes place in the scenic region of Perthshire and is the UK’s original closed-road sportive. The event is known for its breathtaking landscapes, challenging routes, and friendly atmosphere that attracts riders from all over the world.  Etape Caledonia takes place annually in May, and participants can choose between three routes – an 85-mile, a 55-mile, or 40-mile route option. The route starts and finishes in the charming town of Pitlochry and takes riders through some of the most stunning countryside in Scotland, including forests, rolling hills, and lochs.  Strambecco rates the event as one of the Best Cycling Events in the UK.

Event & Course Info

The event is open to cyclists of all abilities, making it a perfect way to push yourself and test your limits. There are a few steep climbs and descents along the way, but the overall terrain is manageable for most cyclists.  What sets Etape Caledonia apart from other cycling events is its friendly atmosphere and sense of community. Participants are encouraged to fundraise for charity, and there are rest stops and aid stations along the route where riders can refuel and get medical assistance if needed.

Pitlochry is a picturesque town located in the Perthshire region of Scotland, known for its stunning scenery, rich history, and wide range of outdoor sports activities. It is situated at the gateway to the Scottish Highlands and attracts visitors from around the world who are seeking to explore the natural beauty of the region.
