L’Étape Las Vegas brings the legendary Tour de France experience to the American Southwest as the sole U.S. destination for the L’Étape by Tour de France series. Organized by the same group behind the Tour de France, this event attracts over 15,000 riders annually and celebrated 30 years in 2023.

The event offers three route options starting from Las Vegas Ballpark and heading west into Red Rock Canyon. The 75-mile course features 6,500 feet of elevation gain, while the 45-mile option includes 3,035 feet of climbing and the 25-mile route adds 2,260 feet. All routes utilize closed or partially-closed roads with full mechanical support and strategically placed hydration and nutrition stations. Course design comes directly from Tour de France experts, giving amateur cyclists an authentic pro racing experience.

Competition extends beyond simple finishing times. Riders compete for authentic Yellow, Green (sprint), and Polka-Dot (King/Queen of the Mountain) jerseys, with a Tour de France Champion riding alongside participants on the course. The KOM/QOM section provides a particular challenge where riders can test themselves against cycling legends.

The Classe Spéciale VIP category, limited to 250 riders, includes a complete L’Étape cycling kit, VIP lounge access, priority race staging, and tickets to Saturday’s Champions Dinner with Tour de France Champions. The event maintains its family-friendly atmosphere with a Family Ride for ages 11 and up, plus a free Kids Race for ages 3-10 held Saturday before the main Sunday event.

The festival atmosphere extends beyond racing, featuring food, entertainment, and opportunities to meet professional riders and attend cycling seminars on training and nutrition.
