About

The 906 Adventure Team is a nonprofit organization that inspires and empowers individuals of all ages through endurance sports. Founded in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, the team aims to foster a sense of adventure and resilience by organizing some of the most challenging endurance events in the country.

Among the prominent events produced by the 906 Adventure Team are:

  1. Marji Gesick: Often described as one of the most grueling single-day endurance mountain bike races in the United States, the Marji Gesick offers both 50-mile and 100-mile options. The event is notorious for its relentless singletrack trails and significant elevation gain, pushing participants to their limits.  Held in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, the event offers 50-mile and 100-mile options, but neither distance is for the faint of heart. The Marji Gesick is part of the National Ultra Endurance Series (NUE).
  2. The Crusher: This event challenges riders with a rugged and remote gravel route through the wilderness of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Known for its extreme conditions and minimal support, The Crusher is a true test of self-sufficiency and endurance.
  3. Polar Roll: Held during the harsh winter months, the Polar Roll is a fat tire bike race that tests competitors with unpredictable weather and difficult snow-covered trails. It’s an essential part of the winter endurance scene in the Midwest.

These events collectively form the Triple Crown Endurance Trilogy, a formidable challenge that honors participants who complete all three over their lifetime, earning them a place in the Hall of Pain.

The 906 Adventure Team’s mission extends beyond the races themselves; they are committed to community development, youth engagement, and the maintenance of local trails and natural resources.
