Founded in honor of the legendary Italian cyclist Alfredo Binda, Società Ciclistica Alfredo Binda (SC Binda) is a historic cycling club based in Varese, Italy. Established with a commitment to fostering the sport of cycling in the Lombardy region, SC Binda has become one of Italy’s most prestigious and respected cycling organizations. Named after Alfredo Binda, a Varese native who achieved fame in the early 20th century as a five-time winner of the Giro d’Italia and three-time UCI Road World Champion, the club carries forward his legacy by promoting cycling at both competitive and community levels.
SC Binda is best known for organizing the annual Tre Valli Varesine, a classic one-day race that has been part of the UCI Europe Tour and more recently included in the UCI ProSeries. The event, one of the “Three Valleys” races, brings professional cyclists worldwide to the scenic and challenging roads of the Varese region, winding through picturesque villages and steep climbs that challenge riders and thrill spectators. The race is renowned for its high level of competition and breathtaking route, which celebrates the rich cycling heritage of the area.
