About This Event

Named after the legendary Paris-Roubaix, Barry-Roubaix delivers one of the Midwest’s most challenging and beloved gravel experiences each March in Hastings, Michigan. The course captures the spirit of its European namesake with rolling gravel roads, pavement sections, two-track trails, rocks, sand, and mud. March weather adds an extra element of uncertainty with potential snow and ice making conditions even more demanding.

The event offers four distances to accommodate different ambitions and abilities. The crown jewel is the Panaracer “Psycho Killer” at 100 miles with over 7,000 feet of climbing, limited to 400 riders for an exclusive challenge. The SRAM “Killer” covers 62 miles with approximately 4,000 feet of ascent, while the Security CU “Thriller” spans 36 miles and 2,200 feet of elevation gain. The Floyds of Leadville “Chiller” provides an 18-mile introduction with 1,200 feet of climbing.

What sets Barry-Roubaix apart is its scale and atmosphere. With over 4,000 participants, it creates an electric energy that kicks off the gravel season. The event distributes more than $40,000 in prizes and awards, attracting serious competition alongside recreational riders. The weekend experience extends beyond racing with Friday pre-rides, sponsor expo, bonfires, and social gatherings.

Post-race festivities match the event’s reputation, featuring a substantial after-party and awards ceremony with Blackrocks Brewery providing refreshments. The combination of challenging terrain, massive participation, and excellent organization has established Barry-Roubaix as a cornerstone event that experienced gravel riders return to year after year.
