Established in 2010, the event draws inspiration from the 1994 Cross Country World Cup hosted in Capoliveri, blending historical significance with modern competitive spirit. The event is part of the prestigious UCI Marathon Hero World Cup and rated by Strambecco as one of the Best Mountain Bike Races in Europe.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Monte Calamita, the Capoliveri Legend Cup offers participants an unparalleled racing experience. Riders traverse diverse terrains, including ancient iron mines, dense Mediterranean vegetation, and trails that provide breathtaking views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The course masterfully combines sections of the iconic 1994 World Cup track with over 120 km of trails, featuring single tracks, mule paths, and forest roads.

The main marathon route spans 62 km with an elevation gain of 2,200 meters. Riders will navigate through the captivating landscapes of Monte Calamita, encountering technical ascents, thrilling descents, and panoramic vistas that highlight the island’s diverse topography. Capoliveri, the host town, is a charming village perched atop a hill, offering sea views and a rich blend of history, culture, and vibrant local life.
