Hot Hundred 2026
About This Event
For more than 20 years, the Hot Hundred has held its reputation as one of the premier century rides in the Southeast. Established in 2003 and organized by Druid City Bicycle Club, this Tuscaloosa event distinguishes itself through its thoughtful range of six distance options, from 30 to 116 miles, allowing cyclists of every ability level to find their perfect challenge.
The crown jewel is the Brian Smith Memorial Ultra at 116 miles, designed for seasoned riders seeking an extraordinary test of endurance. The signature Hot Hundred route covers 99.9 miles and delivers the classic century experience, while four additional routes between 30 and 75 miles provide equally rewarding rides through Alabama’s countryside. Each route showcases Tuscaloosa’s rolling terrain and scenic landscapes, with well-organized rest stops strategically positioned to support riders throughout their journey.
What participants consistently praise is the event’s combination of challenging courses with exceptional organization. The routes wind through charming rural areas outside Tuscaloosa, offering cyclists a genuine taste of Alabama’s natural beauty without overwhelming traffic or technical challenges. The terrain provides enough variety to keep things interesting while remaining accessible to recreational riders.
Beyond the cycling experience, the Hot Hundred serves a meaningful purpose by supporting the Tuscaloosa Mental Health Alliance through funds raised from sponsorships and registration fees. This community connection adds depth to the event, creating a sense of shared purpose among participants.
As one longtime participant noted, “The Hot Hundred continues to be one of the best rides in the country. I look forward to next year.” The event’s two-decade track record speaks to its consistent quality and the loyalty it inspires among the cycling community.
