Event Course & Info

The Blue Course is the main attraction for serious gravel cyclists, covering 112 km with a challenging 1,500 meters of elevation gain. With 80% of the course on gravel, riders will experience a thrilling mix of rugged terrain and rolling vineyards in the Adelaide Hills. The route is designed to test endurance with steep climbs and fast descents, offering breathtaking views throughout the journey. The race begins at 8:00 AM for the Blue Course, and participants can expect the first finishers by 11:00 AM, with the final cyclists arriving around 3:30 PM. Aid stations are strategically placed along the route, providing hydration and nutrition, and SAG (Support and Gear) vehicles will be available for mechanical assistance.

For those looking for a more relaxed, family-friendly ride, the Green Vineyard Tour offers a scenic 35 km route with 320 meters of elevation gain. This course is 50% gravel and takes riders through McLaren Vale’s famous vineyards, showcasing the region’s beauty without the intensity of the longer course. The Green Tour starts at 8:45 AM, with plenty of support along the way, including aid stations and mechanical assistance as needed.

The event concludes with a finisher party, featuring food, beverages, and a viewing of the Santos Tour Down Under at the QuadLock Recovery Zone. Podium awards will be presented at 1:00 PM, celebrating the top performers. The field limit ensures a competitive yet intimate atmosphere, making this event a must-do for gravel cycling enthusiasts.
