About
The Birmingham Urban Mountain Pedalers (BUMP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to building, preserving, maintaining, and riding mountain bike trails in Birmingham, Alabama. Since its inception in the early 1990s, BUMP has been instrumental in developing and maintaining approximately 50 miles of singletrack trails across locations such as Oak Mountain State Park, Tannehill Historic Ironworks State Park, and the Trussville Sports Complex.
Key Events Organized by BUMP:
- Bump N’ Grind: Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2024, the Bump N’ Grind is BUMP’s flagship fundraising event at Oak Mountain State Park. This multi-day mountain biking race weekend includes various competitions such as Enduro, Short Track, and Cross Country races, attracting participants from across the nation.
- Oak Ass 100: An endurance race featuring a challenging course of approximately 50 miles per lap, with options for one or two laps. This event serves as the series championship for the National Ultra Endurance (NUE) Series and is the final event in The Vicious Cycle Race Series.
- Fall Fest at Oak Mountain: A community-focused event offering bike riding, socializing, and fun activities. Scheduled for October 5th, it aims to bring together riders of all levels to celebrate the mountain biking community.
