The Life Time Grand Prix Series is an elite off-road cycling competition that spans seven events from April to October. Riders compete for a $300,000 prize purse, equally distributed between men and women. The series covers a mix of mountain biking and gravel racing, showcasing diverse and challenging terrain. Here’s a brief look at each event:
- Fuego XL 100K MTB (April): Held at the Sea Otter Classic in California, this 100 km cross-country mountain bike race features rolling singletrack and kicks off the series
- Unbound Gravel (June): A grueling 200-mile gravel race through the Flint Hills of Kansas, known for its tough terrain and sharp rocks. This event is a signature challenge of the series.
- Crusher in the Tushar (July): This 69-mile gravel race in Utah is characterized by 10,400 feet of climbing. It was cancelled in 2024 due to wildfires but remains an iconic event.
- Leadville Trail 100 MTB (August): A legendary 104-mile mountain bike race in Colorado’s high-altitude Rocky Mountains featuring over 13,000 feet of climbing
- Chequamegon MTB Festival (September): A 40-mile point-to-point mountain bike race in Wisconsin, known for its challenging terrain on forest roads and ski trails
- Big Sugar Gravel (October): The final event, a 100-mile gravel race in Arkansas, which serves as the series finale
This series tests riders across different cycling disciplines and offers a unique blend of gravel and mountain biking in some of the U.S.’s most scenic and challenging landscapes.
