Event for 2027 has not been confirmed yet… In the vast landscape of cycling events, the Sea Otter Classic 2027 stands as a beacon, drawing cyclists from across North America for an unparalleled celebration of the sport. Produced by Life Time Events, this iconic festival has become the largest gathering of cycling enthusiasts, a classic that transcends the boundaries of professional and amateur cycling.

The Sea Otter Classic is a four-day extravaganza with over 300 events. Gravel, cross country, downhill, dual slalom, short track racing, circuit, criterium, and road racing—all find a home at this cycling mecca.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Monterey County, the Sea Otter Classic unfolds its magic in various iconic locations. From the famed Laguna Seca raceway to the scenic trails and roads of the Fort Ord National Monument, participants navigate terrains that blend the thrill of competition with the beauty of nature. The Sea Otter Classic has earned a coveted spot on Strambecco’s list of the best road cycling events in California, best mountain biking events in the Southwest, and the best road cycling events in the Southwest.

Mountain Races traverse the challenging terrain of the Fort Ord National Monument. Racers tackle steep climbs, technical singletrack, and rugged rock gardens. Road Races are held on the iconic Laguna Seca Raceway, providing a thrilling experience with a fast, challenging course that includes the famous Corkscrew turn.

The Gravel Race now features three lap options, each over 30 miles with 3,500 feet of climbing per lap, this Friday race is the perfect way to kick off the weekend. The Family Off-Road Tour offers a brand-new 10.7-mile course on Fort Ord’s fire roads and singletrack with flexible return options. The Robles Off-Road Tour is an untimed 17-mile mountain bike ride exploring Fort Ord’s western side, featuring 1,900 feet of climbing. Gran Fondo Carmelo is a revamped century ride showcasing the Salinas Valley’s vineyards, agricultural fields, and small-town charm, finishing at Laguna Seca after a rewarding final climb.

Life Time Events recently announced the inaugural Life Time Grand Prix, featuring 6 of the most iconic cycling events including the Sea Otter Classic, UNBOUND Gravel, Crusher in the Tushar, Leadville Trail 100 MTB, Big Sugar Gravel, and Chequamegon MTB. The biggest prize purse in U.S. cycling, $250,000, will be split evenly between men and women.
