Best Gravel Events in the Mid-Atlantic 2023

Strambecco rates the top gravel grinder events in the Mid-Atlantic region for 2023 based on various factors, including reputation, route quality, location, rider feedback, and the overall uniqueness of the event or race. Spanning New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland — Mid-Atlantic terrain features of Strambecco’s best list often include secluded gravel farm roads and dirt/grass double track sections, rolling hills, and short, punchy climbs. The roads vary from smooth, groomed sections to rough, choppy, bumpy areas with the possibility of some mud if there is rain.
If we had to select the best of the best, we’d recommend the Unpaved of the Susquehanna River Valley produced by Gro Races. We’d also recommend the Appalachian Mountaineer and Appalachian Journey, produced by Wilderness Adventure.
Strambecco does not list every event. We strive to identify and review events that are special and noteworthy. If you have suggestions on other events, we should consider or review, please get in touch with us here or send us a note at editors@strambecco.com.
