If we had to pick the best of the Best Trail Running Races Northwest 2024, we’d start with two events from the prestigious Transrockies Race Series, which offers multi-day stage races and single-day ultras in various locations across the Rocky Mountains. Two of the most renowned events in this series are the TransSelkirks Run and the Golden Ultra, both held in British Columbia, Canada.

The TransSelkirks Run is a five-day stage race that covers 60 miles and 16,000 feet of elevation gain in the Selkirk Mountains near Revelstoke, BC. The race is held in late August and attracts runners from all over the world who want to experience the beauty and challenge of the Selkirks.

The Golden Ultra is another three-day stage race that covers 52 miles and 13,000 feet of elevation gain in the town of Golden, BC. The race features a variety of trails, from smooth and flat to steep and technical, with views of the Purcell and Rocky Mountains, the Columbia River, and the Kicking Horse Canyon. The race also offers four different options: Full Pint (52 miles in 3 days), Half Pint (30 miles in 3 days), 60k Ultra (37 miles in 1 day), and 30k Ultra (18.6 miles in 1 day). The race is held in mid-September and draws runners who want to enjoy Golden’s trails and culture.
