The fourth leg in the six-part Southeast Gravel Series is a noteworthy South Carolina series often utilizing private land not normally accessible to gravel aficionados. The Greenwood Gravel Grinder is no exception, with singletrack, long gravel roads, and hillier expected terrain. The long course is 76 miles and 4300 feet of evaluation gain. The short course is 49 miles and 2900 feet of elevation gain. Rounding out the field is a 13-mile fun course. Strambecco rates the event as one of the best gravel grinders in the Southeast.
The Greenwood Gravel Grinder is hosted on private property, including an amazing start-finish location. The event is a great event for those who like to camp on-site. There is FREE on-site camping available for Friday night (April 1st). There are no electrical or water hookups, but you can camp in either a motorhome or a tent.
