Kershaw Gold Rush 2026
About This Event
The season finale of the Southeast Gravel Series takes place on a 2,500-acre historic plantation in South Carolina, where riders navigate 70% unpaved roads across terrain that shifts from smooth gravel to chunky rock, mud, and patches of sand. The location on South Carolina’s “fall line” creates constantly evolving ground surfaces that ensure no two miles feel the same.
Three distance options cater to different ambitions. The Long Course covers 83 miles with 6,100 feet of climbing, starting at 9:00 am for riders ready for a full day challenge. The signature feature is “The Wall” – a brutal 15% gradient over 300 meters that eventually eases to 5% at the finish. The Short Course offers 45 miles and 3,200 feet of climbing, while the Fun Course provides a 13-mile introduction to the terrain.
As the series finale, participants earn double points toward overall standings, adding competitive weight to an already challenging course. The highest point offers panoramic views from the Brewer Plantation, giving riders a visual reward for their efforts.
This is primarily a self-supported event. Long course riders get two aid stations with water, drink mix, and snacks, while short course riders have one. Emergency SAG support is available, but riders should carry tools and know basic repairs. A bike wash station helps clean up the inevitable mud before heading home.
The combination of historic setting, varied terrain, and competitive significance as the series closer creates an atmosphere where seasoned gravel riders push themselves while newcomers can test their limits on shorter distances.
