Sturdy Dirty 2026
About This Event
The world’s largest women-specific enduro mountain bike race takes place in the rugged trails of Raging River State Forest, Washington. This annual event has celebrated over a decade of downhill racing while breaking barriers in mountain biking access and inclusion.
The race format combines timed downhill sections with uphill transitions across single-track trails and gravel roads between stages. Participants should expect lines at each stage and come prepared with a coat for comfort while waiting. Racers launch in 30-second increments, though category mixing occurs in later stages, making passing protocols essential knowledge covered in the mandatory riders meeting.
Five distinct routes accommodate varying skill levels. Expert/Pro riders tackle four stages of technical descents on double black diamond trails including Plum Creek DH and CCDH sections. The Sport Route blends technical challenges with flow on A3, Plum Creek DH, and A1 trails. Beginners navigate manageable terrain on A1, A3, and Lower Pop-n-Tops, while Lite and Adaptive routes ensure inclusivity for riders with different needs or those seeking less intensity.
Blue downhill trails dominate the Lite, Beginner, and Sport segments, featuring winding paths with roots, rocks, and rollable jumps. Riders should aim to stay on their bikes throughout, though walking challenging features is acceptable. Strategically placed aid stations provide water, nutrition, and first aid, with mechanical support available at key points.
The event sells out within minutes due to overwhelming demand. Participants should possess at least intermediate mountain biking skills, and the organization recommends joining their dedicated training program. The post-race celebration features awards, raffles, and community connection opportunities that define this vibrant female biking community gathering.
