The TransRockies Singletrack 6 is a six-day mountain bike experience showcasing the best riding in a variety of mountain bike communities in Western Canada. The race takes a new route yearly with a unique mix of cross country trail, panoramic vistas, epic descents, and the best singletrack British Columbia offers.  TransRockies Singletrack 6 is truly a bucket list event and is rated by Strambecco as one of the Best Mountain Bike Events in the Northwest and one of the Best Cycling Events in Canada.

Full route maps are listed below, but it includes routes in and around Fernie, Crowsnest Pass, West Bragg Creek, and Canmore.  You can expect a rider-built stage route with a mix of epic marathon cross-country loops with timed descents to best suit the unique attributes of each stage location.  Expect an exceptionally varied six consecutive days of mountain biking as you navigate singletrack that climbs to the high alpine, flows across arid desert-like landscapes, and finally descends through the lush rainforest. For those looking for a shorter adventure, try ST3, their 3-day option. Family and supporters will also be able to enjoy the festival atmosphere in each host community, with plenty to see and do for bikers and non-bikers of all ages in some of the most scenic, friendly, and welcoming areas of Canada. There is also a preset accommodation package available that is convenient and saves time planning.

2023 marks the seventh running of the TransRockies Singletrack 6 experience; however, 2023 marks the 20th year of the event, known as the TransRockies Challenge. The 20th edition will also echo the original 2002 route from Fernie to Canmore. The same host communities were part of the event in the first year of the TransRockies Challenge, but with the popular community-based fun-focussed format that Singletrack 6 has become known for recently. While some stages will be familiar to those, who have ridden prior editions, the overall mix has been continually updated and improved. A participant of last year’s event states, “All aspects of the race were just awesome! The towns where we raced were great. The trails were so much fun… and pretty technical at times… and the support was top notch. ” – a sentiment shared by many athletes.

The Kootenay Rockies region, situated in the southern interior of British Columbia, borders Alberta and the United States. This stunning area encompasses four National Parks (Yoho, Glacier, Mt. Revelstoke, Kootenay) and boasts an impressive array of over 75 Provincial Parks. As you explore the region, you’ll witness the majestic Rocky Mountains alongside the Purcell, Selkirk, and Monashee ranges of the Columbia Mountains.

Since their inaugural event in 2002, TransRockies has been actively operating in the Kootenay Rockies region, establishing a presence in all the major mountain bike communities. Known as the Kootenay Dirt Epic 8, these communities include Fernie, Kimberley, Rossland, Nelson & Kaslo, Golden, Revelstoke, Cranbrook, and Invermere/Panorama. As you ride through these areas, you’ll be immersed in awe-inspiring mountain and valley landscapes. Undoubtedly, the mountain bike trails in the Kootenay Rockies of British Columbia are unparalleled in their quality and beauty.

TransRockies Singletrack 6 is operated by the Transrockies Race Series, the same producer operating challenging and unique endurance events since 2002. Starting with the TransRockies Challenge mountain bike stage race in 2002, it added the TransRockies Run trail running stage race in Colorado in 2007. The TransRockies Race Series currently operates 11 events over 36 days annually in Alberta, British Columbia, Colorado, and Utah. TransRockies Events feature best-in-class participant support and a fun social atmosphere and some Strambecco favorites are the TranSelkirks Run and Gran Fondo Badlands.
