Best Cycling Races Canada 2025

January 1, 2024

Canada is a cycling paradise, with its vast and diverse terrain providing an array of cycling opportunities for riders of all levels and interests. The team at Stambecco takes pride in finding and describing the Best Cycling Events Canada 2025, rating the events based on factors such as reputation, route quality, location, rider feedback, and the event’s or race’s overall uniqueness.

Road cycling has a rich history in Canada, with scenic routes ranging from flat prairie landscapes to mountainous terrain. One of Canada’s most popular road cycling destinations is the Cabot Trail, a 300-kilometer loop that winds through Nova Scotia’s Cape Breton Island, renowned for its stunning coastal views, challenging hills, and quiet roads.  One of the most noteworthy events on our list is the RBC Gran Fondo, one of North America’s largest and most popular Gran Fondos.  The event is unique because it’s a point-to-point from Vancouver to Whistler and offers beautiful landscapes and a clear, traffic-free passage along the Sea to Sky Highway.

Mountain biking has also grown in popularity over the past few decades, with some of the best terrains in British Columbia and Alberta. The rugged terrain of the Rocky Mountains and the Coast Mountains provides endless opportunities for challenging trails, from smooth, flowy singletrack to technical descents. The Whistler Bike Park in British Columbia is one of the world’s most popular mountain biking destinations, attracting riders from all over the globe. One of the most noteworthy MTB events is the TransRockies Singletrack 6, a six-day mountain bike adventure showcasing the best riding in a variety of mountain bike communities in Western Canada. The race takes a new route every year with the perfect brew of xc, panoramic vistas, and epic descents.  The event is part of the TransRockies Race Series, a unique format that spans world-class cycling and trail running events.

Gravel cycling is a newer discipline in Canada but has quickly gained popularity among cyclists looking to explore remote areas and escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Gravel roads are plentiful in rural areas, particularly in the prairie provinces and Ontario.  Noteworthy events include TransRockies Gravel Royale, a new four-day gravel stage race, a ride from Panorama to Fernie, BC, and the Belgian Waffle Ride British Columbia.  The latter is part of the prestigious Belgian Waffle Ride Series, a North American series of premier gravel events, including the pinnacle event in the Series, BWR California (San Diego)

In conclusion, Canada is a world-class destination for cycling enthusiasts, with its varied terrain and geography providing a wealth of cycling opportunities for riders of all levels and disciplines. Stambecco’s dedication to finding and describing the best cycling events in Canada 2025 helps riders navigate the many options available to them and ensures they experience the best the country offers.
