Moab Fondo Fest 2026
About This Event
The two-day festival offers riders a choice between two distinct routes showcasing Moab’s diverse terrain. The Gran Fondo follows the 63-mile La Sal Mountain Loop Road with 5,500 feet of elevation gain, tracing the Colorado River before climbing into the La Sal Mountains through scenic Castle Valley. The route delivers panoramic views of 12,000+ foot peaks towering over red rock valleys before returning via Spanish Valley Drive.
The Gravel Fondo explores 50 miles of Moab’s backcountry along rugged Gemini Bridges Road, passing the iconic Gooney Bird rock formation and climbing to Highway 313 for sweeping Canyonlands vistas. The route continues along Dubinky Well Road with challenging desert terrain, meandering south along Mill Canyon’s base before returning to the start at Bar M.
Both events feature mass starts with professional timing and welcome cyclists from beginners to experts. Aid stations support riders throughout each route, and post-ride festivities provide opportunity to connect with fellow participants. The festival atmosphere balances competitive timing with the adventure-focused culture that defines TransRockies events.
The Gran Fondo combines challenging climbs with rolling hills and flat stretches, while the gravel route tests riders on technical desert terrain. Each route delivers signature Moab scenery—towering red rock formations, deep canyons, and expansive high desert views that make this region legendary among outdoor enthusiasts.
As part of the broader TransRockies Race Series spanning road cycling, mountain biking, trail running, and gravel events across North America’s most spectacular destinations, the festival emphasizes both fitness and camaraderie. The event promises challenging terrain wrapped in the supportive community atmosphere that veteran TransRockies participants consistently praise.
