Event for 2027 has not been confirmed yet… Mudslinger Events presents West Coast Gravl 2027, part of the Oregon Triple Crown Series. Also part of the Series, the Oregon Coast Gravel Epic, takes place the day prior with a start only a short distance away, making for an epic gravel weekend opportunity if you are game for two challenging back-to-back events. Strambecco consistently rates West Coast Gravl 2027 as one of the Best Gravel Cycling Race Events in Oregon and one of the Best Gravel Cycling Race Events in the Northwest region.

Celebrate the explorer in all of us and join gravel enthusiasts in Yachats, OR, to participate in either a Long Course or a Short Course at West Coast Gravl. The Long Course, Erik the Red Loop, is 57 miles and covers 6700 feet in elevation, which includes a ride along the Yachats River Road and a tricky 3-mile descent to the finish. The Short Course, Leif Erikson route, is ~33 miles with ~3500 feet of climbing. The terrain for the West Coast Gravl course is new, and many bikes have not been seen.

Both courses start at the Commons area, and riders can choose to change from Long Course to Short Course at Aid Station 1, where the course splits. NOTE: Due to a landslide affecting the original mass start loop, the 2024 event will feature a self-departure setup, starting from Yachats after 9:00 am. Participants must leave by 9:30 am, with the landslide repairs scheduled for summer 2024. Timing will begin 3.7 miles from Yachats and conclude 1 mile from the starting point.

West Coast Gravl is supported by fully stocked aid stations offering water, Hammer Nutrition Heed, and snacks such as PB&J, cookies, pretzels, and pickles. The first aid station is at 16 miles for both routes and a second aid station at 18.5 miles for the short route or 38 miles for the long route. Mechanical support is available both at the venue and at the first aid station, and a drop-bag service is also offered for personal items. Custom awards will be given out, including the top three awards for all distances and a top team award for the best team time on the long course.

The Oregon Triple Crown Series, organized by Mudslinger Events, offers cyclists the opportunity to participate in up to six fully supported, timed rides through Oregon’s picturesque backroads. By registering for a 3 or 5-event pass, riders receive a swag pack at their first event and enjoy discounted entry fees—15% off for the 3-event pass and 20% off for the 5-event pass. Those who complete three events earn the title of “Oregon Triple Crowner” and are rewarded with a custom Pactimo jersey.
