Former professional cyclist Filippo Pozzato has crafted something genuinely different in the Veneto hills. Set in Bassano del Grappa on the eve of the Veneto Classic pro race, this social ride deliberately strips away the competitive edge that defines most cycling events. Instead of racing against the clock, participants traverse portions of the same route the pros will tackle the following day, but with an entirely different purpose.

The ride offers two routes: 57km with 690m of climbing or the full 98km challenge gaining 1,100m through the scenic Colli Asolani. Both routes wind through historic areas including Monfumo, Castelcucco, and Paderno del Grappa, tackling renowned climbs like La Tisa and the final ascent to Diesel Farm on Renzo Rosso’s estate.

What transforms this from a standard group ride into something memorable are the gourmet stops showcasing Veneto’s zero-kilometer produce. At 65km, riders refuel with local bread, pizza, cold cuts, and beer. The highlight comes at 90km atop Diesel Farm, where the culinary experience reaches its peak amid panoramic views.

The event employs a French start system with no timing or results, reinforcing its social nature. Starting from the elegant 18th-century Villa Ca’ Cornaro in Romano d’Ezzelino, the day concludes with music, DJ sets, and YOU&MEAT burgers back at the villa.

Participants receive an official Santini Cycling jersey, while the first 100 registrants get personalized Elite bottles with their details. The combination of challenging terrain, exceptional food, and genuine camaraderie creates an experience that celebrates cycling culture rather than simply enduring it.
