Best Trail Running Events in the Mid-Atlantic 2023

Strambecco rates the top trail running events in the Mid-Atlantic for 2023 based on various factors, including reputation, route quality, location, rider feedback, and the overall uniqueness of the event or race. Spanning New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland. As the Appalachian mountains are a dominant feature in the region, there is generally a lot of undulation and rocky single-track. Also, depending on the time of year, you can expect warm and humid conditions.
The Mid-Atlantic is home to some of America’s most prestigious trail-running events. At the top of the list is the Eastern States 100, a Western States 100 Qualifier, the UTMB Series Event, and a Pennsylvania Triple Crown event. Old Dominion is one of the oldest ultra trail events in the country and part of the Grand Slam of Ultra Running.
