Pennsylvania Triple Crown Series

The Pennsylvania Triple Crown Series is a prestigious ultra-running event that consists of three challenging races held in different regions of Pennsylvania, USA. Each race offers unique terrain and stunning scenery and tests the endurance and skill of runners. Strambecco has profiled each event that makes up the Series which are all rated in the category of Best Trail Running Events in the Mid-Atlantic.  The three events that make up the Pennsylvania Triple Crown Series include:

  1. Hyner View Trail Challenge: The Hyner View Trail Challenge is the first race in the Pennsylvania Triple Crown Series and is known for its rugged and hilly terrain. Located in the heart of the Bald Eagle State Forest, near Hyner, Pennsylvania, this race takes runners through some of the most beautiful and challenging trails in the region. The course features steep climbs, technical descents, and breathtaking views from Hyner View State Park.
  2. Worlds End Ultramarathon: The second race in the series is the Worlds End Ultramarathon, held in Worlds End State Park, Pennsylvania. Known for its stunning vistas and diverse trail system, this race provides runners with a unique experience. The course encompasses approximately 100 kilometers of challenging trails, including rocky terrain, creek crossings, and steep climbs. As participants navigate through the deep forests and along the ridgelines, they are rewarded with breathtaking views of the Endless Mountains and Loyalsock Creek.
  3. The Eastern States 100: The Eastern States 100 is the final race in the Pennsylvania Triple Crown Series and is considered one of the most challenging 100-mile races in the country. This race takes place on the rugged and remote trails of the Allegheny Mountains in central Pennsylvania. Runners tackle a grueling course that includes steep climbs, technical descents, and rocky terrain. The route covers a variety of landscapes, including dense forests, mountain ridges, and picturesque streams. The Eastern States 100 provides a true test of endurance and mental fortitude as runners push themselves to their limits in pursuit of the finish line.
