About This Event
The Gran Fondo Hincapie Bentonville 2026 is part of the prestigious Hincapie Gran Fondo Series, created by former professional cyclist George Hincapie. Held in Bentonville, Arkansas, the event is renowned for combining challenging rides with scenic beauty and a first-class rider experience. Bentonville, a burgeoning hub for cycling, provides an ideal backdrop with its picturesque roads, vibrant cycling culture, and access to the stunning landscapes of the Ozarks.
One of the unique features of the Gran Fondo Hincapie Bentonville is its commitment to providing a pro-level experience for amateur cyclists. Riders can choose from three route options—Gran (86.5 miles), Medio (55 miles), and Piccolo (18.1 miles)—each showcasing the rolling hills, forests, and rural charm of northwest Arkansas. The routes are carefully designed to challenge participants with significant elevation gains while offering well-supported aid stations, safety marshals, and a festive atmosphere.
What makes the event truly noteworthy is the emphasis on community and hospitality. Riders enjoy a pre-event ride with George Hincapie and other cycling celebrities and a lively post-ride celebration that includes a family festival, food, craft beer, and live music. The Gran Route (86.5 miles) features 6,000 ft of elevation gain with three timed climbs offering challenging and panoramic views. The Medio Route (55 miles) includes 3,600 ft of elevation gain, while the Piccolo Route (18.1 miles) offers 800 ft of elevation gain.
All routes culminate in a grand finish in downtown Bentonville, where participants can join the free Family Fun Festival. This post-ride celebration includes food, beverages, and entertainment, perfect for sharing the achievement with family, friends, and fellow cyclists. Special features include a Junior Challenge for young cyclists, VIP packages with exclusive benefits, and a Celebrity Chef Dinner on the eve of the ride at Thaden School.
George Hincapie is a former American road bicycle racer who competed as a professional between 1994 and 2012, best known for completing the Tour de France 16 times. The Hincapie Gran Fondo experience is designed to be a multi-day cycling celebration, including scenic and challenging routes, live music, and a family festival. It’s a chance to join thousands of cycling pros, celebrities, weekend warriors, and first-time riders in the excitement hosted by George and the family.
