The 2025 event date is not confirmed -- The Hincapie Gran Fondo - Lehigh Valley 2025 is a popular cycling event that takes place in the Lehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania. The event is produced by Hincapie Events, the namesake being former world pro tour rider George Hincapie. The event is part of the Hincapie Gran Fondo Series, a national series for premiere road and gravel events that attracts cyclists worldwide. Strambecco rates the event as one of the Best Road Cycling Race Events in the Mid-Atlantic region and one of the Best Cycling Events in Pennsylvania.
Event & Course Info
The Hincapie Gran Fondo - Lehigh Valley 2025 offers three different routes to cater to cyclists of all skill levels. The Gran Fondo route is the longest and most challenging, covering ~78 miles with over 5,700 feet of elevation gain. For terrain, the course has 11 short steep climbs, six dirt road sections that total 5.1 miles, and five covered bridges. The Medio Fondo route covers ~52 miles with 3,700 feet of elevation gains. There are eight short steep climbs, four dirt roads that total 4 miles, and two covered bridges. The Piccolo Fondo route is a more leisurely 14-mile ride with ~800 feet of elevation gain. The terrain in the Lehigh Valley region is diverse, with rolling hills and flat stretches. The route takes cyclists through picturesque farmland, small towns, and historic landmarks. The roads are generally well-maintained, and some challenging climbs offer stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

The Hincapie Gran Fondo - Lehigh Valley starts and finishes in Emmaus, located about an hour north of Philadelphia. Emmaus is a charming small town with a population of around 12,000 people. The town has a rich history dates back to the mid-18th century when Moravian settlers founded it. The town has a well-preserved historic district that features a variety of architectural styles, including Victorian, Gothic Revival, and Craftsman homes. One of the most notable landmarks in Emmaus is the Emmaus Moravian Church, which dates back to 1743 and is considered one of the oldest churches in the United States. The town is also known for its vibrant downtown area, which features a variety of shops, restaurants, and galleries. Lehigh Valley has diverse restaurant options that are good for all travellers. Copperhead Grille is a sports bar dining experience. Youell Oyster House, established in 1895, provides a mass seafood menu. Grumpy's BBQ Roadhouse is the first established BBQ restaurant in Lehigh Valley.

George Hincapie, one of the founders of Gran Fondo Hincapie, is well-known in the cycling industry, making a name for himself by defining domestique. He has competed in Tour de France 17 times and won the US National Road Race championships three times. He has retired from the professional racing circuit but is involved in Hincapie product development and often makes appearances or rides in the various Gran Fondo Hincapie events.
