About This Event

Roam Fest 2026, the world’s first and largest women-only mountain bike festival, offers an unparalleled experience for women, genderqueer femme folks, and non-traditional riders. Set in the stunning desert landscape of Fruita, CO, this event is a haven for those looking to build community while enjoying world-class trails. The festival is produced by The Roam Collective, who began the event in 2017 with a goal to create a welcoming space to enjoy biking and foster a sense of belonging. The festival is held at the famed 18-road trail system and attracts women from all over the country, many of them being repeat attendees.

Strambecco considers Roam Fest 2026 to be one of the Best Mountain Bike Events in Colorado, the Best Mountain Bike Events in the Rockies and one of the Best Women Only Race Events across sports categories.

Roam Fest promises a kid-free, dog-free, and responsibility-free weekend, allowing participants to fully immerse themselves in the joy of mountain biking. Whether it’s taking an e-bike for a spin, joining the Solo Shredders social ride, or exploring the Roam & Ramble Expo, there are countless ways to tailor your adventure. The festival has evolved over fifteen iterations to ensure that every aspect of playing bikes is infused with intentional joy and authenticity.

The festival is dedicated to creating an inclusive space for diverse participants, from World Champion riders and Paralympians to weekend warriors and seasoned riders of all sizes and backgrounds. The festival holds 20% of its event registration for BIPOC riders and welcomes para-athletes, queer folks, and those who identify as FTWN-B (femme, transgender, women, and non-binary).

One of the great elements of the festival is the range of Demo Bikes available. Festival pass holders can demo bikes from 1 pm-4 pm, with options including e-bikes, carbon, and full-suspension models. Upgrading to an all-weekend Demo Bike Pass ensures size availability and allows participants to try multiple bikes starting first thing in the morning.

Guided rides provide expertly curated routes supported by local Ride Guides, ensuring participants experience the best trails Fruita has to offer. Workshops are almost as significant as the riding itself. Participants can enjoy sessions like “Bleed Yo Brakes” with pro mechanics, “A Wheel Education” with Industry Nine, and “Learn to Ride More Playfully” with legend Angi Weston.

Pivot Dig School offers a deep dive into trail building, led by local legend Anne Keller. This multi-session academy covers everything from basic trail building to advanced techniques, sustainable practices, and organizing local trail work parties.

The Roam & Ramble Expo features over 40 vendors, handpicked and vetted to align with the festival’s laid-back, intentional vibe – it guarantees bikes in your size, zero mansplaining, and an extensive selection of femme-forward apparel, gear, and adventure brands.

The SHREDTalks panel, launched in 2017, focuses on facilitating conversations around diversity, equity, access, and belonging in cycling and the outdoors. The Adventure Film Fest, presented by Peak Design, showcases femme-focused adventure films, emphasizing mountain biking but occasionally featuring other epic outdoor pursuits.

Roam Fest’s dance party is a highlight, offering a space free of the male gaze where participants can let loose with friends. The playlist, curated over fifteen festivals, ensures a night of fun and freedom. Happiest Hour, featuring costumes, body paint, mocktails, cocktails, and snacks, is a key community-building event.

The Liv Ladies All-Ride Pre-Fest Skills Day, led by world-renowned instructor Lindsey Richter and elite instructors, offers participants a chance to hone their skills before the festival begins. This festival is not suitable for brand-new or unskilled riders due to the technical nature of the trails and the limited resources available to support novice bikers safely.

The Roam Collective is a women-led organization focused on creating inclusive outdoor experiences for women and marginalized communities, particularly in the mountain biking and outdoor adventure realms. With a mission to empower individuals through outdoor events and educational opportunities, Roam Collective fosters a welcoming environment for participants of all skill levels. Their events aim to connect, inspire, and uplift communities in various stunning outdoor locations, emphasizing fun, friendship, and skill-building in a supportive atmosphere.
