The Laramie Range epic is Wyoming’s top mountain bike endurance event taking place in the vast Pole Mountain region. Make the trip out to test yourself against Wyoming’s top racers or just to have some fun on the bike. But there is so much fun to have other than biking with tons and tons of raffle prizes, “top notch aid stations,” live music, and plenty of prizes. This epic is a 31 mile loop with 4,184 ft of climbing and descending all above the altitude of an impressively thin 7,500 feet of elevation. Riders have the option of the “One and Done” which is simply one lap. Or there is the official “Laramie Range Epic” with a truly epic two laps. You do the math, that’s a lot of miles and feet of climbing! The course is located in the hills just east of Laramie, and winds through the Happy Jack recreation area, Blair-Wallis, and the Vedauwoo Recreation area. And a cool feature of the race is that there are zero paved road crossings so you get to really be in nature all day (now that is a very nice added bonus). And with fully stocked aid stations every ten miles, loaded sponsor bags and prized, live music, this is a fully featured hearty local event. The Laramie Range Epic is a very well thought out race with every bonus a mountain biker would want and 100 percent a dirt event you want to register for.
