Gran Fondo World Tour

The Gran Fondo World Tour (GFWT) is a series of international cycling events that offer amateur cyclists the opportunity to compete in long-distance, timed rides on challenging courses. These events typically range from 100-200 kilometers and feature varying degrees of elevation gain.  There is also a Gran Fondo World Tour – Gravel Series.

The GFWT was founded in 2011 and has grown to include events in multiple countries, including Italy, Spain, Canada, Australia, and the United States. The series culminates in a World Championship event, where top finishers from each qualifying event are invited to compete for the Gran Fondo World Champion title.

While the events are timed and competitive, they are also designed to be accessible to a wide range of cyclists, with participants ranging from amateur enthusiasts to former professional cyclists. The GFWT promotes a spirit of camaraderie and community among participants, and the events often feature post-race celebrations and social events.

You can see the complete list of events here.  The only current US event is the 719 Ride.
