Crusher in the Tushar 2026
About This Event
This Life Time Grand Prix Series event tackles the dramatic terrain of Utah’s Tushar Mountains, where several peaks exceed 12,000 feet and roads reach the highest elevations in the state. The 69.9-mile course delivers 10,000 feet of climbing through a 40/60 mix of pavement and gravel, starting in downtown Beaver and finishing at Eagle Point Resort.
The route unfolds in distinct chapters. A gentle 10-mile warm-up along Beaver Canyon Road parallels the Beaver River before the real challenge begins at mile 11 with 21 miles of climbing on dirt through Fishlake National Forest. The infamous “Big Drop” follows—a technical 10-mile descent losing 4,000 feet through switchbacks and washboard terrain that demands respect and bike handling skills.
After regrouping in Piute Valley, riders face five miles of farmland roads along the Sevier River to Circleville, then return to gravel for the final ascent. The closing climb reaches 10,500 feet at Puffer Lake before transitioning back to pavement for the summit finish at Eagle Point’s upper lodge.
Five fully stocked aid stations support riders throughout the challenging course, with Beaver and Piute County Search and Rescue providing additional safety coverage. The mountain setting offers stunning vistas and genuine solitude between the technical demands.
As part of the Grand Prix Series, this draws elite competition alongside recreational riders. The post-race celebration at Eagle Point includes lunch service, while Saturday evening awards take place at Beaver City Park with a gravel expo, beer garden, and live entertainment.
