The race starts at the York Expo Center; then, you will head west for 10 miles along well-paved roads into the York countryside before taking on a 35-mile loop. Ride past farm fields and wooded hillsides. The rolling hills vary in height from 200ft to 1000ft in altitude, serving you one challenge after another, with only the descents to provide some rest and no flat riding in sight. The scenic beauty will leave you in awe, but the hills will sting your legs.
Relish in the climbing, descending, and fun of cycling along impressive nature like Gifford Pinchot State Park and its Pinchot Lake, along the winding Conewago Creek, along the base of Roundtop Mountain, past rocky ridges, and through majestic forests and river valleys. York County is the foothills spanning from New York to Alabama. The hills turn into mountains to the west and coastal flat to the east.
Long-route riders repeat the loop a 2nd time before returning to the finish line at the York Expo Center, where the post-race festival awaits you.

GFNY events are personal endurance challenges where you compete against others, the clock, and yourself. GFNY World events provide you with that same challenge in locations worldwide. Additionally, you can qualify for a front corral start at the GFNY World Championship every May in NYC. For every event, each athlete has a timing chip, which starts right after you cross the start line and stops when you cross the finish line. Timing results for all riders will be provided at the finish area on race day and online after the race. Only the finishers of the events-long course are eligible for category rankings and Overall Podium awards. You must complete the long course to race and be ranked in your category. The top 10% of finishers in each age group qualify for the Racer Corral at every GFNY World event. All GFNY events have the bonus of closed roads and police-moderated traffic that ensures added safety, and you don't have to stop during the race. Also, look for VIP ticket options, including a VIP registration suite, Private shopping service, VIP Corral start, 30-min post-race massage, and access to a Post-race hospitality suite.
Besides GFNY Pennsylvania York and the GFNY World Championship in NYC, GFNY Florida, GFNY Rockford, and GFNY Maryland fill out the US calendar. Strambecco also rates the best road cycling events in the Mid-Atlantic.
