Event & Course Info

The City of Lakes Loppet Winter Festival features several route options, catering to different skill levels and preferences. The main event, the City of Lakes Ski Loppet, is a challenging 32K point-to-point race. This long course takes skiers over parkways and through dense woods, ultimately leading to a grand finish at The Trailhead in Theodore Wirth Park. The route features rolling terrain, with a mix of climbs and descents that will test your endurance and technique. The elevation gain is approximately 1,000 feet, with the most challenging sections concentrated in the middle of the course. Aid stations are strategically placed along the route, providing hydration, snacks, and basic mechanical support to keep you going strong.

For those looking for a less intense challenge, the Ski Puoli Loppet offers a 20K version of the long course. This race follows a similar path but bypasses some of the more strenuous hills, making it a perfect option for intermediate skiers with an elevation gain around 700 feet. If you're new to cross-country skiing or simply prefer a more relaxed experience, the Ski Loppet Tour is ideal. This 10K route offers a scenic introduction to the beauty of Theodore Wirth Park, with gentle terrain that allows you to enjoy the winter landscape without the pressure of competition.
