Strambecco rates the Swiss Epic MTB 2026 as one of the Best Mountain Biking Race Events in Europe and one of the Best Mountain Biking Race Events in Switzerland. The 2024 event received a 90+% satisfaction rating from participants, with finishers praising the friendly atmosphere, great organization, impressive landscape, and challenging trails.

The SPAR Swiss Epic MTB offers an unforgettable five-day adventure that will have you and your teammate eating, sleeping, and breathing mountain biking. The race is known for its fresh new route each year, ensuring that even seasoned riders face a unique challenge. Imagine the thrill of conquering snow-capped peaks, descending through jagged valleys, and navigating fast-flowing trails.

This demanding yet highly rewarding five-day stage race stretches over 350 kilometers and involves a grueling 12,000 meters of climbing. The race organizers provide top-flight accommodations and high-value amenities to recover after each day of exhilarating riding.

One unique aspect of the SPAR Swiss Epic is the requirement to ride as a team of two. This creates incredible camaraderie and teamwork as you and your partner conquer the mountain biking adventure of a lifetime.

The all-inclusive package ensures that you have everything you need for a remarkable week in the Swiss Alps. You’ll stay in Swiss quality double rooms with your teammate, providing the perfect environment to rest and recharge. The race’s commitment to rider comfort includes service stations offering sports nutrition at three points on each stage, post-stage recovery meals, free coffee to start your day, and local beer at the finish of each stage in the lively Race Village.

The stages follow this order: S1 Davos to La Punt, Engadin, S2 La Punt to Engadin, S3 La Punt to Engadin, S4 La Punt to Engadin – Davos and S5 Davos.

The Engadin region in Graubünden offers top-notch mountain biking with over 400 kilometers of well-signposted routes extending to Italy. La Punt is home to the impressive Albula Trail, running almost 9 kilometers from the pass directly into the village. Davos Klosters is a singletrack paradise for mountain bikers, with trails for all levels including the award-winning “Alps Epic Trail Davos.”

The Spar Swiss Epic is a five-day stage race held in the spectacular Swiss Alps, known for its high-altitude challenges and world-class mountain biking terrain. Riders traverse scenic alpine trails with a mix of steep climbs, thrilling descents, and technical singletrack. The event travels through mountain towns such as Davos, St. Moritz, and Arosa, providing a visually stunning backdrop while pushing competitors to their limits in one of Europe’s most iconic MTB destinations.

4 Islands MTB Croatia

The 4 Islands MTB Croatia takes riders on a unique journey across four of Croatia’s beautiful Adriatic islands: Krk, Cres, Lošinj, and Rab. Over five days, participants encounter a diverse range of landscapes, from rocky coastal trails to inland climbs through picturesque Mediterranean villages. The race combines technical riding with stunning seaside views, offering a mix of challenging terrain and spectacular scenery that highlights the natural beauty of Croatia’s islands.

Andorra Epic Pyrenees

The Andorra Epic Pyrenees is a four-day mountain bike race set in the rugged Pyrenees mountain range, offering some of the most technical and high-altitude riding in the EPIC Series. Riders face demanding climbs and thrilling descents on trails that wind through steep valleys and towering peaks. With sections reaching over 2,000 meters in elevation, the race tests endurance and skill in Andorra’s challenging yet picturesque mountain landscapes.

ABSA Cape Epic

The ABSA Cape Epic is often called the “Tour de France of mountain biking” and is the most prestigious event in the EPIC Series. Held annually in South Africa, the eight-day race covers over 600 kilometers with around 15,000 meters of climbing through diverse terrain, from rugged mountains to rolling vineyards. The ABSA Cape Epic attracts the world’s top professional riders and dedicated amateurs, making it a race of global significance. The event is known for its grueling nature, fierce competition, and incredible landscapes, with each stage offering a unique challenge.

Wine2Whales

The Wine2Whales is a three-day MTB stage race in South Africa. It starts in the famous wine country near Somerset West and finishes along the scenic coastline at Hermanus. The race features a mix of flowing singletrack through vineyards, rugged mountain terrain, and exhilarating coastal trails. Wine2Whales is known for its friendly atmosphere and stunning scenery, allowing riders to enjoy the race’s challenges and the beautiful South African landscapes.
