HERO Sudtirol Dolomites 2026
About This Event
The BMW HERO Sudtirol Dolomites kicks off the annual HERO Global Series with three demanding mountain bike routes winding through the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites in South Tyrol, Italy. The race offers 86km, 71km, and 60km courses with elevation gains of 4,500m, 4,100m, and 3,200m respectively, each delivering serious climbing amid the dramatic limestone towers that define this iconic Alpine landscape.
For overall ranking consideration, men tackle the full 86km route with 4,500m of elevation gain, while women compete on the 60km course with 3,200m of climbing. The routes traverse technical singletrack and demanding climbs that showcase why Reinhold Messner called the Dolomites “the most beautiful mountains in the world.”
As part of the UCI international calendar, this race draws elite riders from across the globe, creating a competitive atmosphere that pushes participants to their limits. The challenging terrain combines technical descents with grueling ascents through some of Europe’s most spectacular mountain scenery.
The HERO ZERO VILLAGE serves as race headquarters, featuring the latest mountain biking gear and innovations from event partners. This bustling hub gives riders opportunities to test new equipment and connect with the international mountain biking community.
Prize ceremonies honor the top three finishers in overall categories, with additional prizes for category winners. The event also includes HERO KIDS races for children aged 4-12, creating a family-friendly atmosphere despite the serious nature of the main competition.
Each race emphasizes sustainability, with organizing committees committed to respecting the pristine Alpine environment that makes this event so extraordinary.
